Check out our recent publication in the East Kent Mercury all about Ripple Steams’ partnership with the Deal Hop Farm Project. Our team member David Cliff is to be the technical advisor and mentor to the Deal Hop Farm project and we’re all very excited about it.
Set up in conjunction with the Deal With It community group the project aims to grow hops within the local area in various gardens with the intention that the hop varieties grown will be used in a green hop brew in the Autumn. English Heritage and other organisations say the brewery is fully supportive of the project, which aims to provide local products. “I want to take brewing back to it’s roots in England’ said David. “Where beer was brewed on farms for the local people. This project will be great for sourcing hops for beer literally grown within a few miles of the brewery and on the farm itself”. Deal With It is a community group, dedicated to trying to minimise the impact on the environment and climate change within the Deal and Dover areas in Kent. Ripple Steam Brewery has been producing beer since 2011 at Parsonage Farm Sutton-by-Dover on the South Kent Coast. Business development manager for the brewery Andy Mitchell said “We are delighted to be able to help support a local cause very much in keeping with our brewery’s ethos of being as ecologically friendly as we can possibly be”.
